In the November Church Conference, the church assigned our Leadership Council the task of reviewing our Mission Statement, drafting a Vision Statement, and a Guiding Plan to help chart the future of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Over the course of four months the Leadership Council prayed and worked diligently reviewing and drafting a Mission Statement for the Poplar Springs Family. On April 29th the Leadership Council presented the results of their careful effort. Here is the Mission Statement draft they presented:

A Christian Family Seeking to Worship Our Lord Jesus Christ and to Love All People by Fulfilling His Great Commission.

This Mission Statement draft was formally presented to the church in the May Church Conference, on May 23rd. Since this is a change in the church’s Constitution the church will vote on the Mission Statement in June and July with a ¾ majority required on each vote to pass the Mission Statement. The Church voted unanimously on the first vote on June 20 and the second vote on July 18, 2007. The draft is now the Offical PSBC Mission Statement.
